The Only Natural History Museum in the Upper Great Lakes Region!

We are a historical museum with an objective to save the history of the Barnes area, educate people, and preserve this heritage for the future. We have various fundraising events throughout the year.

Museum located in the original 1906 Soo Line Depot, and in a refurbished Soo Line red caboose & the original 1926 Stone Lake Town Hall.

Hayward's Landmark! 4 1/2 stories high and holds up to 20 people in it's gaping mouth--reveals a wonderful panoramic view of Lake Hayward. The Big Musky sits atop an 88,000 gallon pond full of fish!

Step back in time at the Sawyer County Historical Museum, located East on Hwy B near the Lumberjack Bowl.
