CHARAC Art Crawl

Date: August 9, 2013 - August 11, 2013
Event Description Thirty-seven artists in 21 different sites will exhibit their specialty work in the 2013 Art Crawl, scheduled Friday through Sunday, Aug. 9-11 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day.
Sponsored by the Cable-Hayward Area Art Council (CHARAC), the public will have an opportunity to meet a celebrated group of regional artists and observe their work in their studios, galleries and homes. At many sites, artists have grouped together to show their work.
The art trail takes visitors through Stone Lake, Springbrook, Hayward, Cable, and Drummond. Even though there is a detailed map and a suggested sequence for the art crawl, visitors can start wherever they wish, can visit all or just a few of the sites, and can spread their crawl out over the three-day event, if they wish. Bright yellow Art Crawl signs with directional arrows are in place to help guide visitors, and all sites are marked with a bright yellow flag.
Art will be on sale at all sites but the event also provides a unique opportunity for people to view art and, in some cases, begin working with an artist for commissioned pieces. Proceeds from art sales remain with the artists; all participating artists have paid a fee to cover expenses associated with the event.
The range and diversity of the media are almost limitless: metal, photography, sculpture, jewelry, fiber, pastel, oil, acrylic, wood, pottery, tiles, etchings, leather, glass, graphite, costuming, silversmith, silk, watercolor, culinary pastries and more.
