Cable's Quilt Extravaganza!

Event Description
 
The 3rd bi-annual Quilt Show sponsored by the Cable-Namakagon Historical Museum will be held on Saturday and Sunday, August 4-5 from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Cable Community Center on County Hwy M.  Free and open to the public, the show is a phenomenal cultural and educational experience for all ages.  Both contemporary and traditional quilts will be on display.

Quilt Show exhibitors will compete for The Peoples Choice Awards in five categories voted on by attendees of the show.  The winners will receive Sara Balbin designed steel trophies depicting the “Little Museum with Big History”.  
 

A Quilt Raffle will give the public an opportunity to support the Cable-Namakagon History Museum. The raffle prize original quilt was sewn from individual squares created by over thirty community women.  Museum board member Carol Elliker, and museum members Jan Paulik and Cecilia Peterson coordinated the quilt created for the raffle. Quilt Raffle tickets are $1.00 each or 6 for $5.00 and can be purchased at the museum or during the show at the Cable Community Center.
 

Participants can drop of their quilts for exhibit and completed registration forms until August 2nd at the Cable-Namakagon Historical Museum, located on the corner of Spruce Street and Kavanaugh in downtown Cable. Hours for the museum are Wednesday through Friday 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and Saturday 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m...  Exhibitor’s quilts and completed registration forms can also be dropped off at Cable Lumber & Home on Spruce Street in Cable from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
